2020/2021 Annual Report
October 29, 2021
Greetings!
It is my pleasure to present to you the 2020/2021 Cal State Student Association (CSSA) annual report. It was an honor and privilege to serve as the CSSA president during one of the most difficult years that our organization has faced. Leading a statewide organization amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and a resurgence of social and civil justice movements was a heavy responsibility however serving alongside exceptional student leaders that persisted despite the many challenges we faced, was truly inspiring.
In light humor, I have labeled the members of 2020/2021 CSSA, the COVID-19 Governing Members, but the truth is we had to overcome many hurdles to be able to sit in leadership spaces; an even more challenging barrier was we had to do this from our living rooms, bedrooms and sometimes, our cars with unreliable and unpredictable internet connection in addition to the distractions that come from working in public spaces. This year, more than ever, we have seen the true resilience of the students of the CSU. Students that continued to push through and prioritize their education to pursue a better future for their themselves, their families, and their communities.
This report serves as a reflection of the past year but also a reminder of the organization’s commitment to advancing educational equity for CSU students. CSSA will continue to pursue opportunities to elevate and strengthen the student voice in higher education policymaking to improve the lives of CSU students.
In service and solidarity,
Zahraa Khuraibet
2020/2021 Cal State Student Association President
