Each academic year the Cal State Student Association (CSSA) is responsible for the creation and execution of a search process to assist the Governor of California in appointing a qualified California State University (CSU) student to the CSU Board of Trustees. CSSA collects applications, selects candidates for interviews, and refers 2-5 finalists to the office of the California Governor, who selects one student to serve a two year term on the CSU Board of Trustees.
There are two voting student trustees on the 25 member board. Student Trustees serve as liaisons to the CSSA but do not have a vote and are not duty bound to the organization. To learn more about the CSU Board of Trustees please visit the California State University website link below.
